IF YOU didn't get the chance to run with the Olympic torch, why not buy your own?
Used Sydney 2000 torches are for sale on the internet, but the price is up to $2,500.
Collectables dealers say the torches are among the potentially more profitable Olympic memorabilia.
But for pin collectors, dealer Mark Duff of Strand Coins warned that once the Games are over, most pins would be worthless.
``After the Olympics leave town the pins will be worth 50?. They are not meant to be an investment," Mr Duff said.
With a new 2000 pin released nearly every day by three different makers, Mr Duff said that the market was flooded.
``They never will be valuable," he said.
If you want to sell your pins try your luck on the internet auction sites, such as sold.com.au, gofish.com.au, bidorbuy.com.au or ebid.com.au.
But Ian Taylor, general manager of pin maker Benson House, said: ``The pin culture has been an international sensation.
``Darling Harbour is awash with pin collectors. It's a culture that we have never seen before."
Pins with unique features would stay popular in the long-term, he said.
``People collect things and these pins have inspired a lot of people who have never collected before in their lives. It will only get better."
